Frequently Asked Questions

ADHD & Autism Assessments – FAQs

Do you provide ADHD or autism assessments?

✅ Yes! We conduct online ADHD and autism assessments using gold-standard diagnostic tools and following recognized diagnostic criteria.

We offer:

  • ADHD assessments for adults and children (ages 6 and over)

  • Autism assessments for adults only

Our assessments are carried out by highly experienced practitioners who have spent many years conducting assessments for the NHS. We follow the same procedures and diagnostic criteria as the NHS, ensuring our assessments meet the highest clinical standards.

What is your waiting time?

Our current waiting list is around 4-6 weeks.

What if I’m not sure I have ADHD or autism?

🤔 If you're unsure whether to proceed with a full assessment, we offer a pre-assessment with a BACP-accredited therapist who has extensive experience in neurodiversity.

🔹 This session includes a psychometric test and a clinical discussion. 🔹 The therapist will use their clinical judgment to recommend next steps. 🔹 This could be a full assessment or another type of appropriate support if an assessment isn’t necessary.

How much do the assessments cost?

💰 ADHD or autism assessment (single diagnosis): £550
💰 Combined ADHD & autism assessment: £1,000

What is included in the full assessment?

✅ A comprehensive diagnostic interview with a specialist
✅ Use of gold-standard assessment tools, such as DIVA-5 for ADHD in adults
✅ A same-day prescription if clinically appropriate (most providers charge separately for this)
✅ A full diagnostic report with recommendations
Post-diagnosis guidance and support

What if I already have an NHS ADHD diagnosis but am waiting for titration?

🚀 If you have been diagnosed with ADHD via the NHS but are waiting to start titration (medication initiation), you can skip the wait and start medication with us.
📌 You will need to provide proof of your NHS diagnosis.

What if I’m already on ADHD medication but need adjustments?

💊 If you're already on ADHD medication but need dosage adjustments or a medication review, we can support you.

How does titration work?

⚖️ Titration is the process of adjusting your ADHD medication to find the most effective and safest dose. It typically takes 3-6 months.

💰 Each titration consultation costs £100
💊 You’ll also need to pay for the medication separately
📦 Your medication will be couriered to your home by a private pharmacy

What happens after titration?

After titration, your prescription options depend on your GP:

✔️ If your GP agrees to a shared care arrangement, they will take over prescribing.
❌ If your GP does not agree to shared care, you can continue receiving prescriptions from us:

  • You will not have to pay for a consultation.

  • You will only pay a small admin fee of £15, plus the cost of the medication.

Are your assessments recognised by schools and the NHS?

Yes and no—it depends on your school and GP surgery:

✔️ Some schools and NHS GPs accept private diagnoses and offer support accordingly.
❌ Others may only accept NHS assessments before providing accommodations or prescriptions.

Why don’t all GPs and schools accept private assessments?

While our assessments follow the same procedures and diagnostic standards as the NHS, some GP surgeries and schools have policies that only recognize NHS-provided diagnoses. This is often due to:

1️⃣ Local funding rules – Some NHS trusts do not allocate resources for private diagnoses. 2️⃣ Limited awareness of private assessments – Some GPs and schools are unfamiliar with the high standards used in private assessments. 3️⃣ Policy restrictions – Some NHS services require their own in-house assessment before offering treatment.

📢 We strongly recommend checking with your GP and school in advance if you need support or a shared care arrangement.

Does ADHD or autism run in families?

🧬 Yes. Both ADHD and autism are highly heritable, similar to how height runs in families. If a parent has ADHD or autism, there is a significant likelihood that their child may have it too.

What support is available after my assessment?

💡 If you have received a diagnosis—or even if you didn’t get the outcome you were hoping for—we offer ongoing support to help you navigate life post-assessment.

We provide:

✔️ Specialist ADHD & autism coaching
✔️ Therapy tailored for neurodivergent individuals
✔️ Couples counselling for neurodivergent couples to help with communication and relationship dynamics
✔️ Guidance on applying for Access to Work grants to get workplace support
✔️ Help with PIP (Personal Independence Payment) applications, ensuring you have the right evidence and support
